Sauteed Shiitake Mushrooms are the easiest side dish to make and serve with main dishes. All you need is 3 basic ingredients and 15 minutes!
- Fresh Shiitake mushrooms - Garlic - Salt & black pepper - Unsalted butter
Clean shiitake mushrooms using a damp sponge or place them in a colander and rinse under cold water. Remove the stems and slice them evenly.
Place a 10 or 12-inch skillet on the stove over medium-high heat and warm the butter until melted.
Transfer the sliced shiitake mushroom to the skillet and saute, stirring constantly, until the mushrooms soften fully and begin to caramelize (6-7 minutes).
Add the minced garlic to the shiitake mushroom slices and saute the mixture for another 30 seconds.
Sprinkle the shiitakes with salt and pepper. Then, transfer them to a plate and garnish them with chopped parsley, if preferred.
