Flaky, creamy, and filling, this Turkish Borek recipe combines crisp phyllo dough with tangy feta cheese and tender spinach.
- Baby spinach - Onion - Egg - Vegetable oil - Phyllo Dough - Feta cheese - Milk & Yogurt
Cook the filling by sauteeing onion with baby spinach leaves in a saucepan. Let it cool for at least 15 minutes.
Whisk olive oil, milk, egg, yogurt, salt, and black pepper in a bowl until combined.
Layer two sets of phyllo sheets and brush each layer with yogurt & milk mixture. Repeat the same process one more time.
Add spinach filling and feta cheese in the middle and continue with layering and brushing each sheet as you cover the filling. Slice & Bake.
It should be fully baked when it is golden brown on top and your kitchen smells amazing. Serve while it is still hot!
