Back from "Home"

Just came back from vacation… I went home. Home to Turkey…

My first time going back after my mother’s passing.

My mother had a lot of friends. Lots and lots… From every age and every gender… What happens to one’s friends when she dies?

In my case, I inherited my mother’s friends. They became my friends. I was welcomed with the same genuine, friendly way that I am used to. I knew that it was just as hard for them to loose her so suddenly. In a weird way, it helps to know that there are people out there sharing your pain. We took this opportunity to talk, cry and laugh about her.

This is a post about some of the memories from my Turkey visit.

As I was vacationing I did not do a lot of blogging.
Bad, new food blogger… I know.

But, I promise I came back with a ton of new ideas.

So here is what I did when I wasn’t blogging…

  • Enjoyed the most amazing breakfast made by my beautiful aunt, Ayla: Look at this table. Different kinds of cheeses, olives, baked goods, Turkish tea and hand picked tomatoes…

  • Vacationed in one of the most beautiful summer towns in Turkey; Ortakent, Bodrum: Lot’s of food, great conversation with friends on the seaside…Dinners over looking this amazing view every night…

Vacations are good for you. It helps you recharge… I enjoyed every bit of my time in Turkey with my wonderful friends and family.

I hope you are enjoying your summer and will get a chance to head out to a summer town (or your favorite destination ) as well…

Cheers.
