Hello, friend! Welcome to Foolproof Living, a website with over 500 tried and true foolproof recipes made with everyday wholesome ingredients and without the use of refined sugars.
The Story Behind My Story:
Want to know a little bit more about me and my journey through Virgin Gorda, BVI to Manchester, Vermont, and how it all started? Here is a video of the story behind my story, shot and edited by my talented friend Kristen of Border Free Travels.
When it comes to cooking, I believe that if you can read, you can cook. It is that simple.
Of course, having a good, tried and true recipe also helps. And that is where I come in. As I write my recipes I always think, How can I write and photograph it in a way that someone who is cooking this the first time can get the best results?
The recipes you will find on Foolproof Living are straightforward, realistic, and made with the healthy eater in mind. They are also made with everyday ingredients that don’t require any fancy cooking skills.
And if there is a skill you need to know, I am right there to hold your hand and guide you through it either with step-by-step photos or a how-to video.

Where did you get that?
The questions that I get asked most often are about my favorite cooking tools, ingredients, and the props that I use on this blog.

The Woman Behind The Blog
That photo below? That’s me, Aysegul Sanford. I know, my name is hard to pronounce. Feel free to call me Ice, as most of my friends do.
I don’t know how you made your way here, but I am glad you found me. I started Foolproof Living back in 2013 when my husband and I were living on a small island in the Caribbean. I always loved cooking so I wanted to document my favorite recipes all in one place. That is how this blog was born.
Fast forward to today, I live in a small town called Manchester in Southern Vermont with my husband, Dwight.
You can read more about me and how it all started on my About page.
Behind The Scenes:
In addition to being a food and recipe resource, Foolproof Living is also a personal site where I share my personal journey through life, travels, and photography.
I publish a monthly lifestyle post where I share my notes and photos from the past month along with books that I read, recipes that I cooked, challenges I had, etc.
If you are a fellow food blogger and wondering about the equipment I use, I listed everything in my camera bag in these Photography and Videography equipment pages. If you cannot find what you are looking for or have a question, feel free to send me an email using the contact page.
I am so glad you are here. Click around, try some of the recipes, and let me know if I can help in any way. I cannot wait to connect with you through our love of food and cooking.
