This post has been sponsored by Vermont Creamery, but as always all opinions are my own.
For years, my go-to recipe for an easy appetizer was my Pecan Baked Brie that I shared a few years ago. But this holiday season, I wanted to come up with another classic so here I am with a delicious goat cheese appetizer: Baked Goat Cheese Dip recipe.
If you have friends who love goat cheese, this creamy and warm goat cheese dip is guaranteed to knock their socks off. Because let’s face it, who can say no to melted goat cheese served with crackers, veggies, and fruits? Especially when it is served with a drizzle of honey…
How To Make Baked Goat Cheese
This stupid easy to make Baked Goat Cheese dip comes together in less than 20 minutes and can be served by itself with veggies, fruits, and crackers or as a part of a meat and cheese platter, especially if you are entertaining in your house.
The recipe for this easy goat cheese appetizer has 2 folds.
First, you place goat cheese, shredded Parmesan cheese, and cream cheese in the bowl of a food processor. Drizzle it with a little bit of olive oil and sprinkle it with some black pepper. Then, you whip it up until all ingredients are fully combined.
I chose to keep the recipe simple, but if you want, you can add in other ingredients like fresh herbs, roasted nuts, or even sun-dried tomatoes. If you do so, be sure to process them until everything is fully mixed.
Second, you transfer the cheese mixture into an oven-proof bowl, lightly coat it with oil, and bake in a pre-heated 400 degree oven for 17-18 minutes or until the top turns lightly golden brown and it starts bubbling.
As you can see in the photos, I used my favorite, Vermont Creamery’s goat cheese. I love their goat cheese, not only because they are incredibly delicious, but also because I have had a chance to attend one of their Vermont Cheese Camp events and see how dedicated they were to produce a high-quality product with my own eyes.
For this baked cheese dip recipe, I used their plain goat cheese. They recently added flavored goat cheeses to their collection. Flavors like honey, blueberries, and even smokey pepper jelly.
I bet you this simple goat cheese dip recipe would be great with those flavors as well.
A Few Helpful Tips for The Best Baked Goat Cheese Dip
- Can I use a different cheese than parmesan? Yes, as a matter of fact I recommend trying this with shredded cheddar (instead of Parmesan cheese) and turning it into a yummy hot cheddar goat cheese dip. If you decide to do so, you can use the same amount of cheddar.
- Can I make it ahead? Yes, you can. Simple whip everything up in the food processor, place the mixture into the bowl you plan on baking, cover it with stretch film, and keep it in the fridge. Bake it right before you are ready to serve to make sure that it is nice and warm.
- Can I freeze it? I wouldn’t recommend freezing this dip.
- What can I do with leftovers? I doubt that you’ll have leftovers, but if you do you can use this dip to spread on a piece of toast and top it off with roasted vegetables, like I did in this Herbed Goat Cheese Bruschetta with Butternut Squash and Cranberry Jam recipe.

What veggies would you recommend serving with this dip?
Great question! I would serve this baked goat cheese dip with carrots, radishes, cucumbers, and chopped bell peppers. However, I can’t think of any fresh bite-sized vegetable that wouldn’t go well with this recipe.
I hope this helps. Cheers!
Hi!! I would like to make this, but I donโt have a food processor. Is there a way you recommend i could make it without a food processor?
Thank you
Hi Phuong,
It might be a bit of work but you can make it in a bowl using the back of a fork or a whisk. Another option would also be a blender, if you have one.
Hope this helps.
Thank you! Iโll be trying it soon for our Friendsgiving. Would you say the recipe given would fit into a 9-inch baking dish? Or should i double the recipe to make it fill a 9-inch baking dish?
Hello Phuong,
I think a 9-inch baking dish would be too big, even if you double the recipe. I mean technically I think it would work, but I feel like it would be too big.
Hope this helps.
Delicious! I stirred in some chopped deli ham and topped with fresh diced tomatoes after cooking. Thanks for the recipe!
Oh that sounds incredible. Thanks for coming by and taking the time to review the recipe Kacy.

Thank you so very much for the free e-book, I hope you have a GOD BLESSED CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR.

This was so good, I mixed it and piped it on top of caramelised onion tarts, and then baked the tarts. Yum. The flavours are lovely and next time I’m going to bake it in an oven dish as per your recipe and serve it with crusty bread.
YAY! So happy to hear that Gill. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Cheers!
